CI1 mod3 mobile target Underwater mobile target
Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) teams need extensive training in target sonar tracking and torpedo launching. The “train as you fight” concept requires access to high-performance systems. For this purpose, DCNS provides a comprehensive solution in the form of the CI1 mod3 underwater target.
Innovations
Housing acoustic devices compatible with all types of modern sonars, CI1 mod3 is ideal for training crews in:
- Target sonar tracking
– Torpedo launching
– Torpedo evaluation
– Torpedo functioning control
Behaving like a submarine regarding endurance, speed, acceleration, manoeuvrability and diving performance, CI1 mod3 includes a towed array fitted with hydrophones. It is able to emulate the acoustic signature of a real submarine (ships as small as midgets to bigger ones like SSBNs) in both active and passive mode.
DCNS proposes a complete offer for ASW training with pre & post exercise analysis and at sea trials assistance including targets, decoys, tracking range, torpedo recovery & reconfiguration, etc.
